Research shows that Age-Related Hearing Loss affects a large majority of seniors; hearing loss is directly correlated with cognitive decline and dementia. This highly prevalent condition causes social isolation and depression. Even mild hearing loss can cause the auditory centers in the brain to atrophy, leading to a loss of ability to process speech.

The Hearing Wellness Center provides a simple, painless, onsite service for ear examination, detection of ear disease, removal of cerumen, and hearing screen.
Those seniors whose hearing screening results indicate a probable hearing loss are referred and encouraged to obtain a complete audiometric test conducted in a certified audiometric sound proof testing booth. Dr. Oshinsky reviews the results of the audiometric testing with each individual at the next regularly scheduled visit to the facility and makes further recommendations (such as a prescription for hearing aids) based on the results.
